The Stupur/Wakayama Baseball Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, which is fully funded by the annual Stupur/Wakayama
Memorial Golf Tournament. We hope you will consider sharing this information with others who may have interest in our organization, as well as those who might qualify for our youth baseball equipment donation or new 2007 scholarship. Thank you in advance for your interest and assistance to further our program.
In 2005 Dan Stupur and Frank Wakayama decided they wanted to do something to honor both Dan’s father and Frank’s father and mother who had recently passed away. Both the Stupur and Wakayama parents had given in many ways to further Dan and Frank’s desire to play baseball. The support of their parents started in grade school, progressed to high school, college and beyond. The unlimited time and financial support Dan and Frank received from their parents was something they wanted to memorialize. This is how the Stupur/Wakayama Memorial Golf Tournament was founded. Dan and Frank knew their parents would be proud to have money raised in their name, which would be donated to youth baseball in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area.
The Stupur/Wakayama Memorial Golf Tournament would have been nothing more than friends getting together for a day of golf if not for the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers, and golfers. Our organization is still young but grows in financial support each year. We feel truly blessed by the response from our family, friends, sponsors, volunteers and golfers.
Our mission is simple; “We want to provide an opportunity for youth in our area, who do not have the financial means to participate in baseball, by offsetting team fees/travel costs and or purchasing equipment/uniforms.” In our first year we established a non-profit organization, held our 1st annual memorial golf tournament, donated baseball equipment and provided financial support to youth who needed help playing baseball in the Portland/Vancouver Metropolitan area. Please check out our web site to see some of the youth who have received donations from our organization.
If you are aware of an individual who may: benefit from our scholarship fund, an individual in need of baseball equipment or a youth in need of financial support to play baseball in school or club sports please email Frank@salesnw.com or metroconstruction7@comcast.net.
